“Kara didn’t help, tom was worse, they asked other faculty, now they are looking to Nick. This is what they have been trained to do, find the answer and do what they are told. They are just really good, PC students.”

I hate to admit it, but most people I have encountered professionally are like good PC students: they just want a quick solution. My company’s CEO admittedly dictates a lot of processes and sets a lot of precedents by force. Force is a very expensive and reckless way to do business. The fallout is that we now have a young workforce intimidated by upper management that is squarely focused on finding a quick solution so that everything “looks” fine. We are putting lipstick on a pig.

It will greatly help these seniors to stand up for what they’re thinking and really fight for what they think is right. They will undoubtedly need to do so in the near future in their professional lives.
